Ashley Wincer started hosting The Sound of Movies at Gippsland FM in September 2014. Grew up in the film industry, spent a lot of time on film sets as a kid watching his father, Simon Wincer, work. Spent many years of his youth on locations in places like Hawker (South Australia), Alice Springs, Orlando, Austin, Los Angeles and London.
Ashley has been fortunate enough to travel around the world and lived in the US for 11 years. Attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and studied Aircraft Accident Investigating, Intelligence Gathering & Analysis and International Business. Graduating with a BSc in December 2001.
After graduating from university, worked for Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA) in Northern Virginia. Worked as a Ramp Agent, Operation Ramp Controller and Flight Dispatcher at Washington Dulles International Airport. (2002 – 2006)
After ACA filed bankruptcy and ceased operations, Ashley relocated back to Melbourne, Australia. Worked as a flight dispatcher for Jetstar airways until the position was outsourced overseas in 2010.
Currently Ashley is in the process of changing industries, studying Advertising at RMIT in Melbourne. (2016-17)
